Scooter thief arrested with passenger

Tuesday August 3, around 11 p.m., the Information and Command Center (CIC) of the Chartres police station was alerted to the presence of three young people pushing two scooters at Chichester Square.

In the process, another person called to report the theft of his motorized two-wheeler.

Two police patrols then grabbed the three suspects driving in the neighborhood. But the youths tried to force their way through and a scooter hit a police car.

Two minors

The pilot, a 17-year-old resident of Yèvres, was arrested on the spot. His passenger, a 15-year-old Chartrain, fled.

Hidden, he was found by the dog of the police dog team. The second scooter rider managed to escape.

The forensic research unit continued the investigation while the two minors were in police custody.

Deferred Wednesday, the pilot would have recognized the flights. He is being prosecuted for theft in a meeting and refusal to comply. He will later be summoned to court. His passenger, prosecuted for concealment of theft, was reminded of the law.
