A former wine cellar, Chateau Descas was erected in 1870. Since then, the building has had several lives. Became a cabaret in 1970 then a club, the walls have housed a cocktail bar since 2015, still in the same vein. The one we call the Red Dot, in his right wing, offers the unique opportunity to penetrate the bowels of the castle, until then closed to the public. For some years now, the CHâteau Descas and its 10,000 m2 was waiting for new projects.
Château Descas: A building with 1000 lives
But a new press release has just come out and lifts the veil on the future of this emblematic place in Bordeaux, near the Saint-Jean train station in Bordeaux. The project, led by 3 entrepreneurs passionate about the performing artsaims to transform Château Descas into a unique spot of entertainment, dreams and emotion.
The Château will be transformed into auditorium and reception hall for the very first time in its history. The transformation began with the renovation of all interior walls and ceilings that will house the future facility. The original charm of the place will be preserved. 6 months of work are scheduled to open in January 2023.
A future high-flying cultural venue
In the program ? A beautiful room with more than 630 seats in the theater atmosphere of the Roaring Twenties. The program will give pride of place to artists from various universes (dance, theatre, music) for an invitation to discovery and entertainment. In a desire to highlight new talents, a hundred dates are already planned. Also, the spaces will be modular, thus allowing privatization.
State-of-the-art technology in a heritage setting
In this place steeped in history combining heritage and technology, the performance will be immersive thanks to a 3D multidirectional sound, 180° screens allowing a spectacular visual projection and even a diffusion of synchronized fragrances for an awakening of the olfactory senses. Without forgetting the swarming drone flights, giant holograms, and spellbinding special effects to live an extraordinary experience.
Incredible but true, Château Descas will soon rise from its ashes…
