Angers press release

As announced by various media, a police search took place on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 in La Baumette, at the Angers SCO headquarters. This police operation, carried out at the request of the Bobigny prosecutor’s office (Paris region), is part of a large-scale preliminary investigation and involves several football clubs. Its purpose is to verify information held by law enforcement involving dozens of people outside the SCO. However, the target of this investigation is the former legal director of the club, fired for “gross negligence” in November 2022, as well as a “footballers’ representative, employee of the club within the recruitment cell between September and December 2022, the latter he had decided to resign from his post for “personal reasons”.

The club’s management cooperated fully with the police services and no charges or proceedings have been brought against any member or executive of the Angers SCO. The Management kept its employees informed, in absolute transparency, and answered their legitimate questions.
For reasons of transparency, vis-à-vis the public and in particular its partners, supporters and supporters, the club will organize a press conference at the SCO headquarters this Wednesday 4 January at 17:00 and will answer questions from journalists.
