SCO Angers unveils its preparation matches

The 2020-2021 season was average for the Angevins and they finally finished in thirteenth place in the French championship. Next season will have to be better and the players know it. The club will begin its preparation for Ligue 1 on June 25.

The Angers SCO will prepare, like most teams, for its pre-season in a week. The club’s ambitions will be to get closer to the top of the ranking. Since no player in the workforce currently plays in international competition (Euro or Copa America), the entire club will be present for the recovery except for possible injuries such as the Moroccan Rachid Alioui. This pre-season will start with the traditional individual and physical tests at the Raymond Kopa Stadium before the players can return to training on the field on June 28.

Then, the Angevins will travel to the Ile de Ré from July 7 to 14 for a first course during which they will meet Chamois Niortais (Ligue 2) and Avranches (National). Then, the SCO Angers will travel to Saumur on July 18 to face the club of Châteauroux (National). The provisional summer preparation schedule for the Angevin team also provides for two matches against Ligue 1 clubs to finish. July 24 it will be against ESTAC and August 1 against Lorient but the stadiums where these matches will be played are not yet known.

These matches should allow them to start well the season of League 1 which promises to be once again interesting and which begins on August 7.
