At the request of the federal government for reasons of national security, the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) froze the dissemination of any type of information related to expired covid-19 vaccines.
The Legal Department of the Presidency of the Republic promoted an appeal before the highest court in the country to Failure to comply with the order of the National Institute of Transparency Access to Information and Protection of Personal Data (INAI) regarding disclosing such data.
The Recess Commission of the Court, made up of the ministers Juan Luis González Alcántara Carrancá and Loretta Ortiz Ahlf, granted the federal Executive an ex officio suspension so that Said data will not be disclosed until the Plenary of the SCJN resolves on the merits of this matter.
On May 16, the country’s highest court ruled that The federal government may continue to keep data on the purchase of vaccines against covid-19 confidential.because in a context of global pandemic this information should be considered as national security.
