Mexico City. The ministers of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) did not carry out this Thursday the analysis of the draft reform of the Judicial Branch of the Federation (PJF), which the federal deputies will rule on next Monday.
The analysis of the draft bill in the Court began last Tuesday in a private meeting of the ministers, with a view to issuing a statement on the upcoming reform, which seeks, among other changes to the Constitution, to remove them from office, as well as the more than 1,600 judges and magistrates of the country, in order to submit these positions to a popular vote.
At the meeting last Tuesday, the ministers expressed their position on the reform and Minister Piña proposed that those who wish to do so should send their observations to her so that they can be delivered to the Legislative Branch through her.
According to those present at the meeting, it was agreed that the discussion of the project would continue on Thursday. However, the Court has not yet reported whether the judges will continue with the analysis and whether there will be an institutional position regarding the imminent reform.
