SCJN Courthouse Accesses Called For Closure Next Friday

Mexico City. The College of Secretaries of the Supreme Court of Justice called for the closure of all accesses to the headquarters of the highest court in the country starting at eight o’clock this Friday morning, “given the lack of dialogue and openness on the part of the legislators, it is necessary to raise our voices and demand that the new legislature avoid irreversible damage to the administration of justice,” states the call issued tonight.

In the document, the secretaries of the SCJN call on those who work at the facilities of Pino Suárez 2, in the center of Mexico City, to join “the protest of our colleagues in the Federal Judicial Branch, which seeks a comprehensive reform of the entire justice system.

And he has called for this Friday at eight in the morning to “block access to the headquarters building and make our voice heard, let us close the courthouse together to demand a reform that will achieve the justice we deserve.”

A similar call was spread through social media, without the letterhead of any organization, although in this case with the slogan #Todos somos el PJF, two Court workers were called to block all entrances to the Court’s headquarters building next Monday and those who wish to do so were asked to come wearing a white garment, “as well as their banners with the respective slogans.”

They also call on Monday’s participants to avoid “any kind of confrontation” and to raise “their voices in a peaceful and orderly manner.”

On the other hand, Patricia Aguayo, secretary of the Tenth Collegiate Court on Labor Matters and leader of the Movement of Workers of the Judicial Branch, the minority union in the Judicial Branch, and who is part of the magistrates dissatisfied with the integration of the Congress of the Union, called tonight for the access to the headquarters of the SCJN to be closed from seven in the morning.
