British experts at the scientific level decided to test how much vitamin D really helps with coronavirus… A large-scale CORONAVIT study was initiated with the participation of five thousand people.

It is known that vitamin D has worked well in the treatment of coronavirus. In people in whose body it is contained in sufficient quantities, the risks of developing a severe course of the disease are lower. It also helps fight cytokine storms. A condition in which the immune system begins to “go crazy”.

The study will last six months. Scientists from Queen Mary University of London will try to find out how effective vitamin D is in preventing COVID-19, as well as protecting against other viral infections. Persons aged 16 and over are allowed to experiment. In total, up to 5 thousand volunteers will be attracted. The vitamin and supplements will be shipped to the participants by mail.

Vitamin C, zinc, omega-3-unsaturated fatty acids are also useful to support the immune system.

Belgian scientists recently found that a high dose of vitamin C lowers the level of the cytokine interleukin-6. That is, vitamin, like D, is effective in the development of a cytokine storm.

Researchers from the University of Aachen in Germany concluded that zinc prevents the pathogen from entering the bloodstream.

Preliminary data from the study of Omega-3 shows that these organic acids can partially prevent infection and alleviate COVID-19.

Experts, however, point out that multivitamin complexes, which are preferred by many, can be both useful and dangerous. Taking such drugs often leads to an excess of vitamins in the body, which is also very harmful.
