Washington, USA / world today news/ In her latest book, Columbia University professor Galina Mindlin claims that certain pieces of music that have a certain number of beats per minute cause specific mental states such as increased productivity and relaxation, she wrote in her analysis “stand. bg”.
The book is tentatively titled Your Playlist Can Change Your Life: 10 Proven Ways Your Favorite Music Can Revolutionize Your Health, Memory, Organization, Focus, and More, reports DNAinfo.com
Curiously, the heavy rock tones of “Metallica” fall into this magical category of music.
“Music affects you – it can improve your memory, relax you, lift your mood. If you listen to a certain type of music, you can really achieve the desired state of mind and spirit,” says Mindlin.
The book offers sample playlists to lift the mood, but the author notes that choosing music is an extremely personal and intimate experience. “Songs that make you feel good might not work for someone else. Some people like classical music but get the thrill when they listen to pop. The idea is to try to activate as many areas in your brain as possible.”
One of the sample playlists described in the book consists of tracks at 100 to 130 beats per minute and is designed to “achieve high focus while working on an important project.”
Tracks include U2’s “Pride (In the Name of Love),” The Beatles’ “Lady Madonna,” the Dixie Chicks’ “Goodbye Earl,” and the Black Eyed Peas’ “Don’t Phunk with My Heart.”
