JAKARTA – Marina Barcenilla, researcher in astrobiology at the University of Westminster and also a perfumery has recently released a rather interesting new perfume, namely Aromatom. Scent which, according to him, consists of four perfumes derived from the experience of astronauts in space.

The four represent the scent of space that was smelled by the astronauts. “When I study astrochemistry, as a perfumer, I always think, what does the outside space smell like?” Asks Marina Barcenilla, who has worked in the perfume industry for almost 30 years.

From that curiosity he then became interested in exploring the smell of space. He then conducted research on the experiences of astronauts who had flown into space. From those who work on the International Space Station or the International Space Station (ISS) to the astronauts who take part in the Apollo missions from NASA.

One of the astronauts who studied the most was Donald Pettit’s experience, astronaut NASA at work on the ISS. In his personal account, Donald Pettit also once told the smell of space.

“Many of them say they smell like charred meat or burnt rubber, or welding fumes,” Marina Barcenilla said.

Donald Pettit himself mentioned Interesting Engineering and said that the smell of the space was like sweet welding smoke. Marina Barcenilla herself admits that she will not stop producing a perfume of space perfume. She currently has only produced 4 perfumes out of the total of 24 that she has planned.

“Aromatom has a total of 24 smells. I intend to create an entire journey that starts from the Earth to the center of the Milky Way”, explains Marina Barcenilla.
