If so decisions researchers from the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan, presented in Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, If confirmed, this would mean that the 2022 image of Sagittarius A* is not a true reflection of what the black hole looks like.

In his work based on review data Event Horizon Telescope (ETH), Japanese scientists say that in the original image, part of what appears to be a black hole located 26,000 light-years from Earth at the center of the Milky Way galaxy could be an artifact created when the build an image.

The scientists’ hypothesis is based on the fact that the ring image was obtained due to errors during image analysis ETHand in its essence it is more of an artifact than a true astronomical structure.
