Scientists have revealed that the nasty habit most of us have could increase the risk of Alzheimer’s. Here’s what the experts discovered!
Why a hollow nose can increase the risk of Alzheimer’s
Researchers at Griffith University conducted a study in mice that revealed a link between nasal cavities and the build-up of proteins associated with the disease that affects the brain. Thus, the hollow around the nose could damage the internal protective tissues, facilitating the access of dangerous bacteria to the brain, writes The Sun.
In addition, the brain is open to this penetration and facilitates the conditions created by Alzheimer’s disease. Unfortunately, this devastating disease gradually affects sufferers’ brain function and memory, becoming more severe as the years pass.
At the same time, a team of researchers from Queensland, Australia, performed numerous tests on the bacterium Chlamydia pneumoniae. In fact, it’s a rare type of germ that can cause respiratory tract infections like pneumonia.

What studies have shown
The bacterium has also been found in the brains of people with late-onset dementia. The research was carried out in 1998.
