Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Scientists have succeeded in estimating the age of the sun. Not only that, scientists have also succeeded in estimating the remaining age of the sun which has the potential to create an apocalypse on earth.
The sun is estimated to be around 5 billion years old or entering a middle age phase.
Even so, the older the Sun is, experts predict the closest star to Earth will heat up faster in the next 5 billion years.
The hotter the Sun will affect the solar system and impact on Earth. The carbon cycle will slow down so that many plants cannot survive.
In the end, the Earth can no longer be a habitat for plants. When that happens, the food chain will be destroyed. Scientists estimate that this terrible event will occur in 600 million years.
Microbes that are able to adapt to changes in the Solar System will also live in misery. In the next 1 billion years, the temperature of the Sun is predicted to be 10% hotter than today, quoted from IFLscience, Thursday (30/3/2023).
As a result, the increase in the greenhouse effect can no longer be controlled. The oceans will evaporate and cause drought.
Earth will become a Venus-like planet capable of melting everything in it. In a way, when the time comes, humans can no longer survive on this planet. “Earth and Mars will likely rotate into the sun, while the other planets will be pushed out,” said the Iflscience report.
Eventually, the sun will melt all of its core layers and give rise to a new star object called the ‘White Dwarf’. After losing a lot of its mass, the White Dwarf would not be able to depend on the remaining planets.
