Bloomberg Technoz, Jakarta – A giant umbrella the size of Argentina can ward off global warming, while making the earth cooler. This idea was put forward by a team of scientists from Israel, although some others thought that the project would be very expensive and would face challenging natural conditions.
Yoram Rozen is the person who leads a team of physics scientists from the Asher Space Research Institute and director of the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology for this ambitious project.
Providing an umbrella-like device to block the sun orbiting in space, can block a small portion of radiation and prevent the earth from getting too hot.
Spreading a giant umbrella-like shield over some key areas of the Earth reduces global warming by blocking only a maximum of two percent of the Sun’s radiation, which scientists call a fractional approach.
In part, this means keeping sunlight entering the earth to maintain natural balance. The reason is that sunlight is important for the Earth’s ecosystem, but an ‘umbrella the size of Argentina’ is then able to ward off the negative impacts of climate change.
