Nanotraps are injected into the body by inhalation

At the moment, the tests have been successful in rodents and macaques. The next step is their experiments with the human body.

Researchers from the University of North Carolina neutralized COVID-19 using special nanotraps. It is reported by Phys.org.

It is noted that the mechanism of infection with SARS-CoV-2 clings to the angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) on the cell surface with the help of a virus spike protein and thus penetrates into it. Scientists decided to trick him and created particles from human lung spheroid cells (LSC) with similar ACE2 receptors.

That is, they came up with a kind of trap for the virus, which it clings to.

The method of treatment has already been tested in mice and macaques. “Nano-traps” were introduced into the body of animals through inhalation. So, the new device helped to reduce inflammation and fibrosis in the lungs, and several times faster removed the virus from the body of animals.

“By focusing on the protection of the body, and not on the virus itself, which continues to mutate, we were able to develop a therapy that will be effective for a long time,” the scientists noted and added that the “nanotraps” can also be placed in the human body by inhalation. These particles are capable of long life, so the process of combating the coronavirus promises to be successful.

Let us remind you that the world amazes new strain of coronavirus Delta. It spread strongly in India. The media write that Delta is already in Russia, and according to experts’ forecasts, it will be from this country that it will enter Ukraine.

We add, British scientists told why with coronavirus, the smell and taste will disappear and noted that this may be a consequence of brain degradation. In particular, reducing the amount of gray matter.
