Earlier magazine Nature published a study by American scientists, in which they took part 6042 people aged 41 to 67 years. Participants’ physical activity was monitored using fitness trackers for 4 years.
As a result, scientists have established a link between the number of steps taken per day and diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, depression, sleep apnea and GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease).
Those who passed 8200 steps and more, the risk of getting sick with them decreased. Interestingly, for diabetics and hypertensive patients, it was enough to take only 8000-9000 steps to achieve the maximum result. Exercising beyond this does not significantly affect the underlying disease.
