Korean scientists believe that vitamin B12 deficiency can cause irritability. Severe deficiency of this vitamin can cause mental disorders up to paranoia and memory loss.
As reported UfacityNews.ru citing Express, scientists at Chonnam National University have discovered that vitamin B12 can help break down homocysteine, a sulfur-containing amino acid in blood plasma.
Vitamin deficiency causes anemia – homocysteine builds up in the brain, which can lead to mental health problems. Symptoms include numbness in the arms or legs, problems with walking and balance, fatigue, sore tongue, memory loss, paranoia, and hallucinations.
Vitamin B12 is found in particular in meat, fish, milk, cheese and eggs.
