One of the obvious reasons for irritability, irascibility and other manifestations of a nervous state is a deficiency in the human body of vitamin B12.
According to the British newspaper Express, a group of researchers from Chonam National University in South Korea came to this conclusion.
Scientists have found that vitamin B12 promotes the breakdown of homocysteine, the most important sulfur-containing amino acid that ensures the normal functioning of intracellular metabolism.
In a healthy person, homocysteine breaks down into two protein-containing substances necessary for the normal functioning of the mechanism of hematopoiesis and blood circulation.
However, with a lack of vitamin B12, the breakdown of homocysteine becomes difficult, as a result of which it accumulates in the brain cells, which can result in mental disorders.
They can manifest themselves in a person’s behavior: he becomes overly irritable, quick-tempered and unbalanced.
Obvious symptoms of B12 deficiency are numbness of the extremities, sudden loss of orientation in space, impaired coordination of movements, anemia, increased fatigue, memory impairment.
To replenish the deficiency of this vitamin, experts recommend eating more meat, fish, dairy products and eggs.
