scientists from Israel and the USA have discovered a new way

Scientists from Israel and the USA found a way prolonging the life of mice by 23% and stated that he can work on humans. In particular, they found protein, an increase in the level of which prolonged the life of rodents and even strengthened their resistance to oncology.

As writes The Times Of Israel, the discovery was made by a team of researchers from Bar Ilan University (Israel) and US National Institutes of Health… Their article was published in the magazine Nature Communications.

So, with age, the stock squirrel SIRT6 decreases, while an increase in its level positively affects lifespan, youthfulness and cancer resistance in mice.

As the professor notes Haim Cohen from Bar Ilan University, this change was significant, and an equivalent jump in humans would result in on average, people would live almost up to 120 years old.

With age, the reserve of SIRT6 protein decreases, while an increase in its level has a positive effect on life expectancy

In 2012, Cohen became the first scientist to increase animal protein levels, extending their life, resulting in male mice lived 15% longer. Females were not affected by his experience.

Currently Cohen and Professor Raphael de Cabo from the US National Institutes of Health Cohen achieved leap in life expectancy and among female mice. Males lived 30% longer and females 15% longer.

Such mice did not lose the ability to generate energy after a short fast from fat and lactic acid, which is characteristic of aging. They are ran faster, had less cancer and had more low cholesterol levels.

“This finding shows that SIRT6 controls the rate of healthy aging. That is, increasing its activity has the potential to slow aging,” says Haim Cohen.

There is no such mechanism for humans yet, but the scientist promised that in two or three years, his laboratory will cope with the task.

At this stage, researchers are already developing molecules that can raise the level of the SIRT6 protein or make it more active in the human body.

As reported OBOZREVATEL, earlier scientists from the University of Illinois at Chicago explained the connection between the timing of sex and longevity in men.
