KOMPAS.com – Recently, the Siberian region in Russia experienced a heat wave that produced the warmest temperatures in history.
In the midst of this phenomenon, a group of scientists found a severed head wolf a giant estimated to be 40,000 years old.
Strangely, the head of the giant wolf is still in pretty intact condition. It is estimated that the wolf came from time out lastly.
Quoting Science AlertOn Monday (6/29/2020), the head of the wolf was first discovered by a local resident on the banks of the Tirekhyakh River, Republic of Sakha (part of Russia). He found the head piece in 2018.

The head is 40 centimeters long, longer than some species of wolf that scientists have studied before.
“This is a unique discovery and the first time, a wolf head from the Pleistocene era with meat still attached,” said paleontologist Albert Protopopov of the Republic of Sakha Academy of Sciences.
Through these findings, he continued, scientists will compare differences for the sake of differences with wolves that live in the present and reconstruct the body shape of the giant wolf.
Protopopov, along with scientists from Sweden and Japan, have studied the structure of the wolf’s head. It is estimated that he is an adult wolf aged two to four years.

The scientists examined DNA and used tomographic techniques to see the inside of the wolf’s skull.
Previously, in 2015 and 2017, in the same area also found pieces of ancient cave lion bodies. Complete with meat and feathers still attached.
His latest discovery is a cub lion cub which is predicted to be female. Scientists say the cub lion died shortly after birth, then froze in the ice.
