Scientists find fossils of dinosaurs that died when an asteroid hit Earth

KOMPAS.com – A group of scientists claim to have discovered fossil foot dinosaur complete with skin, which died and was buried just in time asteroid hit Earth 66 million years ago.

They also show off dinosaur fossils which is at the Tanis site in North Dakota State, United States of America and have preserved it.

Until now, very few dinosaur remains have been found in rocks, even in the last few thousand years before the Chicxulub asteroid impact.

Therefore, dinosaur fossil discovery of natural disasters that occurred millions of years ago is an amazing thing.

Reported from BBCThursday (8/4/2022) at the same location as this fossil, fish specimens were also found which were thought to have died when the asteroid fell to Earth.

“We have so many things from this site that tell us what happened over time, it’s like watching a movie. You see rock pools, fossils, and it takes you back in time,” said a graduate student at the University of Manchester, Robert DePalma.

From this Tanis site, the location was found dinosaur foot fossila team of scientists finally learned that rock from space 12 km wide hit our planet and caused mass extinctionone of which wiped out the dinosaurs.

The animal and plant remains of the phenomenon appear to have been combined into a sediment heap by the waves of the river water, caused by the violent shaking of the Earth.

In the end, aquatic organisms also mix with terrestrial beings.

The sturgeon and paddlefish specimens in this fossil are the key for scientists to identify dinosaurs.

They need to separate out small particles stuck in their gills, in order to carry out chemical analysis.

Testing the findings of dinosaur foot fossils

Several journals peer-review which discusses about Dinosaur fossil dies when hit by an asteroid found at the Tanis site has been published, and the excavation team says they will find more evidence through further study.
