Techno live – Paleontologists recently claimed to have identified feet mammals to an extent the mouses in the ribs fossil microraptor, a genus dinosaur.
Reported by The Guardian, The find is said to mark the first mammal eaten by dinosaurs. The scientists say their findings have now been published in the Journal of Vertebrate Paleontology as the first record of dinosaurs eating mammals.
Dr David Hone of Queen Mary University of London and lead author of the study said: ‘It is very rare to find examples of food in dinosaurs, so each example is very important because it provides direct evidence of what they ate.’
He continued, “although these mammals weren’t human ancestors at all, we can again see some of our ancient relatives serving as food for hungry dinosaurs.”
Microraptor lived in the ancient forests of what is now China between 125 million and 113 million years ago. As they move on two legs, experts believe some species may be capable of guided flight.
The size of the microraptor is similar to bird crows or small cats and move from tree to tree to prey on small animals.
