Scientists discover genetic link between migraines and blood sugar levels

Australian explorers discoveredhow migraines are related to blood sugar levels. They found the genes that cause these bodily states to occur simultaneously.

Scientists analyzed the genomes of thousands of migraine patients to see if any genetic links could be identified. They did a cross-feature analysis to find matches.

“Of the nine glycemic characteristics we looked at, we found a significant genetic correlation between fasting insulin levels and migraine,” said researcher Rafikul Islam.

The discovery of scientists becomes a significant step forward in understanding how migraine and associated glycemic symptoms manifest themselves. In turn, this opens up new possibilities for treatment.
