Scientists Create Mini Sun for the First Time

Scientists Create First Mini Sun

Mini suns were a really great idea a long time ago. Now physicists seem to have succeeded in creating this in the real world.

Physicists created mini suns that have even higher gravity. The tiny sun consists of superheated plasma inside a 3-centimeter-wide glass ball.

This is of course very amazing because it is the best experiment. Interestingly, this sun also produces sound waves that limit the rotating plasma just like the sun’s actual gravity.

Helps Predict Space Weather

In the journal Physical Review Letters published on January 20, 2023, this small sun will help scientists predict extreme solar storms that can cause power outages, bring down satellites, and also cripple the internet.

Explosions on the surface of the sun launch bursts of radiation which then become solar flares or solar flares called coronal mass ejections (CMEs).
