Scientists Claim Alien Life Can Be Found In Three Years

Indonesiainside.id, London—A group of scientists starting to observe a new planetary cluster in the universe assumes that alien life will be discovered by humans within the next two or three years, reports Daily Star. Astronomers from the University of Cambridge, England spotted a group of planets called hyceans located in the Milky Way Galaxy and assumed that one of them might have conditions suitable for alien habitation.

The planet, dubbed ‘Neptune mini’ K2-18b, is larger than Earth, but covered by oceans and has sufficient levels of heat and hydrogen to support life. However, after discovering levels of methane and ammonia as well as signs of water vapor, scientists believe that the planet K2-18 b holds the secrets of the universe.

‘Mini Neptune’ is located 124 light years from Earth and is up to eight times larger than Earth. But it is far enough away from nearby stars to allow it to sustain intelligent life.

The principal investigator, Dr. Nikku Madhusudhan said humans might be able to detect life on such a planet in a few years.

“Hycean is a world full of water surrounded by a high hydrogen atmosphere,” he said. “We said that in the next two to three years, we will detect the first bio-indicators if the planet is inhabited by something living,” he added.

But he said it was necessary to get more information before he could really be sure that there were other creatures inhabiting the universe. (NE)
