JAKARTA – For scientist amazed by the discovery of a rare “warty” octopus and a “zombie” sea sponge. The discovery of this marine animal was captured by records at sea.
The footage, taken by NOAA Ocean Exploration, shows two very rare locations from beneath the surface of the deep ocean.
According to the footage, the first footage shows a fairly large octopus with a purple body and large eyes.
“This octopus is nicknamed the warty octopus because of the cartilage projections visible along its body as seen off the Atlantic coast of Florida at the Blake Escarpment,” said NOAA Ocean Exploration.
Here’s what’s interesting about this species. A study published in the Bulletin of Marine Science, written and conducted by Janet Voight, shows that the octopus lives in the deepest parts of the ocean.
According to research, the deeper the surface of the water, the greater the protrusions on the octopus’s body.
Not only that, the next discovery in the film was a “zombie” sponge nicknamed by NOAA scientists because of its realistic appearance.
NOAA claims that these strange sponges emerged as a result of sponge larvae settling and growing inside the skeletons of their dead predecessors.
