Scientist Robbert Dijkgraaf is the intended new Minister of Education, Culture and Science on behalf of D66. Sources from The Hague confirm this after a report from the NOS.
Dijkgraaf is professor of theoretical physics at the University of Amsterdam and director of the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton (US). Previously, he was president of the science organization KNAW.
D66 has won several heavy posts in the formation negotiations, but it is not yet entirely clear who will occupy them further. Party leader Sigrid Kaag is associated with Finance by RTL Nieuws, current Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Kajsa Ollongren would get Defense.
Ernst Kuipers is mentioned
Kaag’s second during the cabinet formation Rob Jetten would be given the new ministerial post for Climate and Energy. He previously spoke in the House of Representatives on this subject. Furthermore, care director Ernst Kuipers is still mentioned as D66 Minister of Health. But these names have not yet been confirmed.
