Krjogja.com – AMERICA – Scientists are increasingly convinced of the potential for life on exoplanets or outside the solar system, which is 12 light years away. Confidence is because scientists have found evidence of new potential.
Please note, this world is not the only world in the solar system that has a magnetic field. However, researchers have found Earth-like planets that do.
Our Earth has a very important magnetic field, which serves as a shield for life on this planet. Scientists believe that they managed to find something similar on other planets. They believe they may have detected a magnetic field similar to that of Earth elsewhere.
According to research published in the journal Nature Astronomy, with the Very Large Array (VLA) radio telescope in New Mexico, scientists have observed evidence of a magnetic field at YZ Ceti b. YZ Ceti b is a rocky exoplanet that orbits a star about 12 light years from Earth.
Joe Pesce, Director of the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO), one of the scientists involved in the study, said that this research does not only show about rocky exoplanets that may have a magnetic field. “But it also provides other studies that may find more findings,” he said.
Scientists are very excited about this discovery. This discovery succeeded in revealing the first planet outside the solar system that may have been detected to have the same magnetic field as Earth, this is one of the key conditions for a planet to be habitable.
Pesce explained that the search for other potentially habitable planets “depends on the ability to determine whether a rocky exoplanet like Earth really has a magnetic field or not,” he explained.
