Science size XX Elles is exhibited in Paris

After a stopover at the Château de Belleville, in Gif-sur-Yvette, in October 2020, the photo exhibition “La Science size XX Elles” by Vincent Moncorgé, designed with the association “Femmes & Sciences” and the CNRS, will be presented on the gates of the Hôtel de Ville in Paris from February 3 to 28, 2021.

Building models of inspiring women with whom new generations of girls can identify, such is the objective of the “Science size XX Elles” project. Initiated jointly in 2018 by the association “Femmes & Sciences” and the Occitanie Ouest delegation of the CNRS, the project takes the form of a photo exhibition of a first series of 12 portraits of women scientists under the expert eye of Vincent Moncorgé , freelance photographer specializing in science. These women of science are thus photographed outside their daily workplace with an emblematic and / or symbolic object, evocative of their specialty.
Each year, a new series of portraits has been added to the project, in addition to workshops on stereotypes and meetings organized in particular on the occasion of the International Day of the Fight for Women’s Rights (March 8) or even of the Fête de la Science.
In 2020, the 80th anniversary of the CNRS, Muriel Thomasset, research engineer in instrumental optics at the Laboratoire d’Optique du Synchrotron SOLEIL became one of the 16 new ambassadors of this project.

To discover the exhibition of “life-size” photos by Vincent Moncorgé, meet in front of the gates of the Hôtel de Ville in Paris from February 3 to 28, 2021.
All 48 portraits of the project are already visible on the CNRS website.
