Although it is believed that competition between individual sperm is intense, with each competing for the opportunity to fertilize the egg, researchers from the Wyss Institute attached to Harvard University in the United States found that in some species, sperm form groups of cooperation that allow them to reduce the risk of straying too far off the path to potential fertilization.
