Science Festival: Sophia’s knowledge is exposed to Juan

On the theme of the Ocean of Knowledge, the Science Festival is opening a Science and Innovation Village at the Antibes Juan-les-Pins Convention Center this weekend of October 12 and 13. The opportunity, like every year since 2015, to meet companies, startups, associations and research laboratories from Sophia Antipolis in a fun atmosphere.

If it already largely started on October 4, the 33rd edition of the Science Festival will be in full swing this weekend in the Alpes-Maritimes, particularly with the Science and Innovation Village. Organized by the Sophia Antipolis Urban Community, the Côte d’Azur University and Sophia Club Entreprises, it will be installed at Antibes Congress Center like every year since 2015 and will allow you to see what is being done in the labs or companies of the technology park and to meet the researchers, all in a very fun atmosphere.

With its various business and research sites scattered throughout the scrubland, Sophia Antipolis is not easy to discover. Also it is Sophia who comes to move to Juan. Gathered this weekend in spaces of more than 2,000 m2 at the Palais des Congrès Antibes, the major companies of the technology park (ARM, SAP Lab, Orange, NXP Semiconductors, STMicroelectronics, etc.), startups, technological associations (Pobot, Telecom Valley, IESF, etc.), research centers (LEAT, CNRS, INRAE, CRHEA, etc.) are easily accessible. Throughout the two days, numerous activities are also scheduled for everyone (and particularly children): games, conferences, scientific films, debates, robotics programming, racing miniature autonomous vehicles, observation of the sun, workshop on breathing, exhibitions , demonstrations… In many areas, everyone can touch the future which is taking shape in fields as varied as health, well-being, sustainable development, astronomy, digital, robotics and of course, Artificial Intelligence… The star of Sophia Antipolis.

As part of the Science Festival and its 2024 theme (An ocean of knowledge), two other major events are also organized this weekend in Nice and Villefranche-sur-mer. Free.

In Nice, the Nice Science Festival will take place in the Jardin Albert 1er (2-16 Av. de Verdun, Saturday October 12 (10 a.m. to 7 p.m.) and Sunday October 13 (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.). Organized by Université Côte d’Azur, in partnership with the Métropole Nice Côte d’Azur and the city of Nice, it welcomes young and old with a wide choice of scientific activities: experiments, demonstrations, conferences, shows, exhibitions, etc. Two days of exchanges to understand science and its implications. challenges !

In the Citadel of Villefranche-sur-Mer, it will be “science at sea”’ Saturday October 12 (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and Sunday October 13 (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.). The Villefranche Sea Institute, in partnership with the town of Villefranche-sur-mer, offers a walk in a magical place with a breathtaking view of the sea while reinforcing its ocean culture. Within the Citadel, the Sciences-sur-Mer village will be exclusively dedicated to the Ocean and its sciences.
