Science festival in Tarn-et-Garonne: from Beaumont to Saint-Antonin, immerse yourself in an ocean of knowledge

the essential Schoolchildren and/or the general public are invited to take part in the 2024 edition of the Science Festival which, beyond the village dedicated to Beaumont-de-Lomagne, is available in several municipalities in Tarn-et- Garonne. Discover the program of events until October 14.

Since this Friday, October 4 and until Monday, October 14 inclusive, the Fermat Science association and the Fermat museum, with the support of the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, are organizing the “Ocean of knowledge” operation in their stronghold of Beaumont-de-Lomagne and the four corners of the department of Tarn-et-Garonne.

Activities, workshops, games, conferences but also concerts or escape games: schools and the general public are all invited to this great Science festival which highlights water resources. Here is the program.

Bressols: exhibitions on water and escape game

Until October 30Wednesday and Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. then from 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday, from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.: exhibition on the theme of water. This exhibition, which presents all aspects of the water problem, raises awareness of respect for the environment. All audiences.

Saturday October 12from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.: escape game “Save the factory!” Drop by drop…” The aim is to discover the small water cycle of Toulouse metropolis by reactivating the functioning of the factories. Castelmayran: stories and workshops on the oceans

Until Monday October 14Tuesday 8, Wednesday 9, Thursday 10 and Friday 11 October, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.: stories, workshops, and exhibitions around water and the ocean.
Nursery and elementary schools, reservation required.
Until Monday October 14, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.: “Oceans”. Through this exhibition, discover in a fun way the fauna and flora of the world’s seas, as well as the dangers that threaten the oceans, which are nevertheless essential. All public, free access.

Saturday October 12from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.: “Story time and workshops”. Little ears are invited to see and hear a special “ocean” story time, followed by workshops suitable for both young and old. The session will end with the traditional snack. From 3 to 11 years old, reservation recommended.

Castelsarrasin: exhibitions and workshop “Let’s play math”

Wednesday 9from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday October 12from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.: “Let’s play math” exhibition and workshops, fun workshops to discover mathematics in a different way (comics and mathematics exhibition, “Smart Game” trunk, apprentice surveyors, etc.) From 3 to 18 years old, reservation recommended.

Caussade: conference on the woolly mammoth

Saturday October 12from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.: conference “Should we reintroduce the woolly mammoth? The Contribution of Economists on Species Reintroductions”, moderated by Anouch Missirian, research fellow at INRAE, assistant professor at the Toulouse School of Economics.

Many locally extinct species, large and small, have been voluntarily reintroduced across the world to combat the erosion of biodiversity. Every day except Tuesday, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.: Escape Game “The curiosities of Marie Curie”, a discovery of energies through a reconstruction in the form of a puzzle of Marie Curie’s first x-ray.
