In the Best Of Cinema series, Studiocanal will be showing loads of classics on the big screen again from November, including “Total Recall”, “The fabulous world of Amelie” and “Mulholland Drive”. We tell you what to look forward to.
For many younger viewers, it will be the first opportunity to see these films in the cinema: Studiocanal brings cult films, classics and evergreens back to the big screen – where they belong. MOVIE STARTS will Best Of Cinema in the coming months as a media partner. Today we are introducing you to the first six films that you can see again in the cinema from November 2021. Over 300 cinemas across Germany are taking part in the campaign, with a cinema highlight running on the first Tuesday of each month.
Tuesday, November 2nd, 2021: “The Outsiders”
Two gangs fight against each other in the drama “The Outsider” by master director Francis Ford Coppola, including Tom Cruise, Patrick Swayze and Matt Dillon. On show is a brand new 4K restoration of the newly cut version from 2005, which is closer to the original book.
Tuesday, December 7th, 2021: “The fabulous world of Amelie”
“The fabulous world of Amelie” is a dreamy, playful movie fairy tale by Jean-Pierre Jeunet, after which you are guaranteed to fall in love with Paris and Audrey Tautou.

Tuesday, January 4, 2022: “Death on the Nile”
Before the remake is expected to start in the cinemas in February, viewers can buy a ticket for the crime classic “Death on the Nile” with Peter Ustinov, Bette Davis and Mia Farrow.
Tuesday, February 1st, 2022: “Mulholland Drive”
Logic plays no role at all in David Lynch’s nightmarish trip through Los Angeles, instead you should let yourself drift and disturbed on “Mulholland Drive”! Lynch personally oversaw the new 4K restoration.
Tuesday, March 1st, 2022: “Total Recall”
The remake from 2012 is already forgotten today, but Paul Verhoeven’s Arnold Schwarzenegger-starred sci-fi classic about manipulated memories is not at all. The 4K restoration can be seen for the first time.
Tuesday, April 5, 2022: “Green Tomatoes”
“Green Tomatoes” is a masterful film about friendship among women in the southern US in the 1930s, starring Kathy Bates, Mary Stuart Masterson, Mary-Louise Parker and Jessica Tandy (“Miss Daisy and Her Chauffeur”).
