Schuinesloot escaped a disaster tonight. There was a burning wheelie bin at the Tinq petrol station on Hoogeveenseweg (N852). But because the fire brigade was there quickly, it went off with a sizzle.

The beepers of the Slagharen extinguishing group went off at 7.54 pm and reported that a fire had been discovered in a container at the Herenstraat – Geert Migchelsweg intersection. Usually the danger is not so bad, but in this case the burning wheelie bin was right next to an LPG pump at the Tinq station.

Cut chain
In addition, the waste bin was attached to the pump with a chain. The chain had to be cut before the box could be removed. After that happened, the fire could be extinguished and the danger had passed.
