Schubert: An African agreement is at the gates of Al-Ahly

Journalist Ahmed Schubert, former vice president of the Egyptian Football Association, confirmed that Al-Ahly’s club is on the verge of signing an African deal during the upcoming winter transfer market.

Schubert indicated that Marcel Kohler, coach of the Al-Ahly first team, has asked the management of the Red Castle to sign two agreements, during the market, which will start next year (after two months).

Schubert said on a program on On Time Sports: “Marcel Koehler, despite the good results, has requested reinforcements next January. He has not asked for many reinforcements, but he has asked to strengthen the team.”

He added: “The reinforcements requested by Kohler in the upcoming winter transfers do not exceed only the two agreements.”

And Schubert continued: “Al-Ahly has already closed an African deal for minors, or in a more accurate sense, he is working to complete it completely in the next few days”.

Schubert concluded his statements by saying: “There may be another agreement, but I cannot speak about the positions of these two agreements … I would be lying if I said I know, I don’t know him very well.”

The Al-Ahly club was crowned the local Super Cup for the 12th time in history after beating Zamalek with two unanswered goals, in the match that took place the day before yesterday, Friday, at the Hazza Bin Zayed stadium in the Emirate city of Al Ain.
