“Economy helps economy” – Free digital tools for SMEs
Vienna (OTS / BMDW) – Many companies are switching to home office in the current corona crisis. However, many companies do not have the necessary digital tools. The Digital Team Austria was founded on the initiative of Digital and Economics Minister Margarete Schramböck together with the Internet Offensive Austria and fit4internet. Since March 16, providers can register at www.oesterreich.gv.at/kmu to offer their digital services free of charge to small and medium-sized companies. The services are ordered via the website of the respective provider and are free for three months without any commitment.
“When coping with the Corona crisis, it is important to me that our companies remain liquid and that jobs in Austria are secured. All of our measures are aimed at this. All companies – large, medium and small – provide maximum support. With the ‘Digital Team Austria’, large companies support small and medium-sized companies to enable mobile work, ”said the Minister for Digital and Economic Affairs.
Within five weeks, 100 companies with 113 different services have registered. The services are offered in the areas of video conferencing and online meeting, communication and collaboration, cyber security, internet access and digital training and further education.
“Economy helps economy. The offer of the Digital Team Austria includes a mix of measures to make it easier for people to work from home and at the same time to be able to look after the children from home. My big thanks go to the involved companies from the digitization industry, ”says Schramböck.
Home office is an effective way to reduce physical contacts and thus the risk of contracting the coronavirus as much as possible. “As the federal government, we have taken quick and targeted measures to prevent the spread of the corona pandemic. Our explicit recommendation continues to rely on home office and teleworking wherever possible. We are grateful to all entrepreneurs and their employees for helping so far to contain the virus. Let’s not give up now! Now everything has to be done to avoid jeopardizing a positive trend, ”said Schramböck.
