SCHOONHOVEN • Swimming pool ‘t Wilgerak in Schoonhoven unexpectedly experienced a subsidence in the ground next to the main building, caused by a leaking water pipe that was connected to the slide.
This created a ‘sinkhole’, which endangered the safety of visitors.
Repairs after swimming season
To prevent further damage, the water supply has been shut off. After inspection, the pool management decided to postpone the necessary repairs until after the swimming season.
This means that the slide will remain closed for the rest of the season: ‘Safety comes first, we hope for your understanding of this decision’.
The swimming pool itself will remain open this summer.
