Schools: Over 6,000 student suspensions due to cell phones –

Speaking earlier today, Monday, on SKAI radio, the Minister of Education, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, described the measure of banning cell phones in schools as “spectacularly good”, also stating that since the beginning of the school year and the start of the implementation of the measure, 6,043 abortions.

The minister also referred to the complaints of intra-school violence that have been registered on the stop-bullying platform, noting that a total of 501 reports have been registered since its operation, of which 213 this year.

Eternal students and non-state universities

Regarding the issue of “eternal students“, Mr. Pierrakakis said that the law, which has been passed since 2022 and provides for a maximum duration of study, will be implemented.

The minister also referred to the issue of university security, describing the picture in this area as “improved”.
Finally, regarding the non-state universities, Mr. Pierrakakis emphasized that interest has been expressed and estimated that there will be “several applications” from the first year.
