Magdeburg (dpa / sa) – The free quick tests for teachers and daycare workers in Saxony-Anhalt have been delivered. As the Ministry of Education announced on Wednesday in Magdeburg, teachers can voluntarily have themselves tested for the corona virus on January 7th and 8th. The tests were delivered to 14 central locations across the country last week, from where further distribution took place.
According to the information, a total of around 27,000 employees at all 941 public and private schools are entitled to take a test. In addition to the teachers, this also included teaching staff, employees in the secretariats and caretakers.
In addition, around 21,000 employees in Saxony-Anhalt’s day-care centers could use a test, it said. The tests are planned for the first week of January, but not limited to January 7th and 8th. The decision lies with the management of the daycare centers.
According to the Ministry of Education, the rapid test should be done independently. The schools have appropriate instructions for this. In addition, an instruction video is currently being produced to help teachers carry out the exercise properly. The aim of the mass tests is therefore to secure school and daycare operations after the Christmas holidays. However, if the lockdown is extended, the tests could be postponed.
