Erfurt (dpa / th) – The Thuringian state government is providing 10 million euros for the renovation and modernization of four schools in Erfurt, Jena, the district of Greiz and the Ilm district. The “An der Trießnitz” community school in Jena alone will receive 5 million euros, the building ministry announced on Friday in Erfurt. The money is to be used to repair the school building and to add an auditorium and a cafeteria.
According to the information, the city of Erfurt receives almost 2.9 million euros in funding for investments in the state primary school “Wilhelm Busch”. A new two-field sports hall is to be built there after the school’s old sports hall had to be demolished. The money will also flow into a sports hall in the Ilm district. In Dörnfeld, a district of Stadtilm, around 1.4 million euros are earmarked for the state primary school “Karl Friedrich Wilhelm Wander” for the general renovation of the school sports hall.
According to the ministry, the district of Greiz will receive a little more than 950,000 euros for renovation and reconstruction work at the state primary school “Auma” in Auma-Weidetal. Fire protection and accessibility are to be ensured there. In the course of the renovations at the schools in Jena, Erfurt and Auma-Weidetal, amok warning systems are also being installed.
