Schools – Düsseldorf – Earlier Christmas holidays: emergency care from 1st to 6th grade – education

Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) – Since the Christmas holidays in North Rhine-Westphalia start two days earlier this year, there will be emergency care for students from 1st to 6th grade on December 21st and 22nd. The Ministry of Education announced this to all schools in an email on Monday. The approximately 200,000 teachers are on duty on both days, as the state government in Düsseldorf decided.

On the two days, the teachers are supposed to offer emergency care if necessary for the children whose parents have requested this beforehand. Applications should be made as early as possible, the ministry appealed. If the emergency care includes the open full day and other care offers, additional staff will be included accordingly.

According to the information, the time required for emergency care depends on the general teaching time on both days. Students must wear everyday masks. A list of participants should be kept for each group.

In addition, exceptions should be allowed for the two days without classes: If schools with upper secondary school and vocational high schools cannot postpone their exams or oral exams planned for December 21 or 22, they should stick to the dates. This should also apply to class work and exams of the final year classes in vocational colleges. The advanced training colleges can adhere to the intended examination procedures.
