50.6% (783) of the thousand 547 public schools that are registered in the portal Safe Return, they have not been able to return to the classrooms physically, they continue with counseling and distance classes, because the schools are not in a position to do so.
According to the Secretary of Education of Quintana Roo (SEQ), 1,0204 are already back in educational spaces.
- 764 they are government schools
- 440 belong to the private sector
While 829 have not yet done so, of which 783 schools are public and 46 private.
Schools were left out of the “Safe Return”
Between the number of schools that have returned and those that have not, it gives a total of two thousand 33, which are registered in the Safe Return portal. One of the schools that has not been able to join the more than 700 that have already started face-to-face activities is the primary “Cozumel”.
José Lorenzo Lara Pacheco, director of the campus, explained that they have not received an inspection visit from the State Institute of Physical Educational Infrastructure (Ifeqroo), the agency in charge of the revision and rehabilitation of these buildings.
“Of so many that they are, who knows when it will be our turn, they only asked us for the data so that we could make the reports, but there it was,” said the teacher, who added that the most urgent thing is the electricity and the replacement of the water pump.
Therefore, the request to Ifeqroo is that they inform them of the dates of when they will carry out the inspection visits. Nor have they received help from the cleaning days that were carried out in coordination with the SEQ and the municipality, so they have to stick to what the parents can give.
“We cannot say that we are going to take hold of the school store, because there is not, nor will there be, so we have to find how we are going to pay for the expenses we have. The safest thing is that nobody will want to give a second contribution for the repair, maintenance and purchase of material “, said. Due to this, the more than 300 minors who are registered at this campus must continue with distance classes and face-to-face counseling for parents twice a week.
