REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Epidemiologist from the Ministry of Health Agus Handito Epid invites schools and students to play a role in preventing hemorrhagic fever dengue (DHF).
“It is hoped that the efforts of schools and children can jointly eradicate mosquito nests in the school environment. So eradication and control of dengue fever starts small,” said Agus who is also part of the Arbovirosis Working Team at the Directorate General of Infectious Disease Prevention and Control, Ministry of Health, in a press statement received by Republika.
Agus’s statement was conveyed still in a series of activities ASEAN Dengue Day which is celebrated every June 15th. The purpose of the commemoration is to unite ASEAN countries together to tackle dengue fever.
Memorial activity ASEAN Dengue Day also filled with a coloring contest at the National Library of Indonesia which is a collaboration Ministry of Health dan Enesis Group.
Meanwhile, Enesis Group’s Head of Public Relations & Regulatory Affairs, Budi Satriyo, said that through the coloring contest it was hoped that it would provide fun knowledge about how to prevent DHF through coloring media.
Enesis Group also held a practice of using anti-mosquito lotion to avoid DHF mosquito bites which was attended by 150 elementary school children in Central Jakarta.
