This was announced by St George’s College through a statement addressed to public opinion, in which they reported that the students indicated were only separated from the educational establishment while the corresponding procedures are being carried out.

“An unprecedented problem in education in Peru is presented before us and as a community we understand the challenge of proposing preventive and protection measures for our children that are a future example that allow us to face situations like this,” reads part of the text.

Parents reported that schoolchildren were victims of a group of students who faked a photo with a sexual connotation.

In said letter, the institution expressed its solidarity with the victims regarding everything that happened in the previous days. Likewise, it ratified its commitment to protect the emotional integrity of girls and parents who “have been affected by this painful event.”

“St. George’s College expresses its deep rejection and repudiation of any type of child pornography or any type of verbal, physical or emotional act that damages the honor, innocence and integrity of any child,” the statement read.

“Privacy and respect for others are fundamental values ​​for our institution and we take any situation that threatens this very seriously, and we do not have and will not have any type of tolerance for events of this nature,” the text continues.

St George’s College pointed out that, given the events that occurred, the decision was made to use the remainder of the week as “a period of deep reflection”, in order to prevent similar cases from happening again within their classrooms or in any school in the country.

It should be noted that the Public Ministry opened an investigation against schoolchildren who edited the photos of their classmates to sell them. A former student of St George’s College revealed through her TikTok account that this is not the first time that the institution has ignored complaints made by students.
