Celebrating song and dance songs at the 12th school in Latvia can cost the state budget 1,864,652 euros, according to a report from the Ministry of Education and Science.
Initially, the ministry planned to provide funding for the celebrations in the amount of 4,180,883 euros. However, with regard to the concept of electronic song and dance, the estimated cost to the European Union was 1 864 652.
The ministry reported that most of this amount (€ 714,656) was for the artistic aspect of the festival.
567,872 euros are planned for compensation for technical and administrative staff, authors, performers and directors. It is planned to spend EUR 531,415 for broadcasting and recording activities – EUR 498,820 for fixed value and EUR 32,595 for Radio Latvia.
It is planned to spend 50,800 euros for additional testing and personal protective equipment.
Given that the amount previously planned for the ministry resulted in a surplus of more than 2 million euros, it is proposed to redirect the funds to other priorities of the ministry.
It is planned to keep the funding from the state budget for the leaders of art groups – conductors, dance groups, art teachers – and amateur and professional art teachers.
According to the Ministry, the Ministry of Education and Science in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Health has prepared proposals for organizing traditional events for celebrating youth songs and dances in Latvian schools in accordance with epidemiological requirements.
The solution proposed by the Ministry of Education and Science envisages an extension of the celebrations from July 2 to October 31. All events will be filmed and broadcast on LTV and other digital platforms.
The number of participants will be limited to the number allowed by the government for each event.
The celebration will take place using a so-called bubble strategy. It is planned to organize all events as close as possible to the participants’ homes. The Ministry of Education and Science recommends not to organize long studies.
According to the Ministry of Education and Science, the traditional procession will be replaced by a musical journey SunflowerA
During this time, participants will travel and broadcast for 30 days via Latvian mobile phone LMT streaming platform.
Overseas song and dance groups will send video greetings from their current countries of residence (Ireland, Australia, USA, Belgium, Norway, Germany, UK, Luxembourg, etc.).
Recordings from concerts, other performances, interviews, congratulations and documentaries will be published www.nacgavilet.lv. LTV and LR will document the events and archive them for future generations.
