The return to school will certainly have a different flavor for the 5.6 million students residing in the twelve Italian regions who have decided not to postpone the opening. A restart which is a test for the government and which will be completed next week, after the vote, when the turn of the other 2.3 million students still on vacation comes. The concerns of school leaders and trade unions, however, remain high. “There will be difficulties, inconveniences, especially at the beginning”, also admits the Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte in a video message of greetings sent to students and teachers. “The school – continues Conte – suffers from structural deficiencies that we have dragged on for years, aggravated by the current pandemic, but you will have to commit to respecting the rules of caution to protect your health and that of the people you love”.
