What contribution does the European and international exchange with Erasmus+ make to innovative and creative teaching that best prepares students for their future? This question is the focus of a specialist conference that the Pedagogical Exchange Service (PAD) of the Conference of Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs is holding in Hamburg from September 30th to October 1st.
Under the motto “Best of Erasmus: Learning for the Future”, Ksenija Bekeris, Senator for Schools and Vocational Training in Hamburg and representative of the Conference of Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs, is also honoring numerous schools and educational institutions as examples of good practice that have the program priorities of inclusion, digital education, participation or Embrace sustainability. “The joint work on projects during the student encounters and the digital exchange with eTwinning give children and young people exactly the skills that our society needs in times of digital change and to strengthen our democracy,” said Ksenija Bekeris, praising the award winners.
Around 160 teachers and education specialists from seven countries take part in the event. The total of 29 awards are presented in four categories:
- The European language seals draws two Erasmus projects for their outstanding projects in the field of language teaching and learning.
- The European Prize for Innovative Teaching in the field of school education two Erasmus projects on this year’s focus “Well-being at school”.
- If Success Stories become 15 projects awarded to those who have addressed the key topics of inclusion, environment, digital education as well as participation and participation in a special way.
- The German eTwinning Prize receive ten schoolswho have carried out exemplary online projects with their partners in Europe.

Background: The EU program Erasmus+ for education, training, youth and sport aims to promote lifelong learning, enable sustainable growth, strengthen social cohesion and European identity and promote innovation. Between 2021 and 2027, a total budget of around 26 billion euros is available.
