Mainz (dpa / lrs) – More and more school principals in Rhineland-Palatinate are dissatisfied with their job. This emerges from the new Forsa survey by the Association for Education and Upbringing (VBE), which was presented in Mainz on Friday. Accordingly, the high workload, the shortage of teachers and the high level of bureaucracy are the three biggest problems in schools in Rhineland-Palatinate. “Politicians ignore the reality in schools and are burdening the school management with more and more tasks,” said Lars Lamowski, deputy state chairman of the VBE Rhineland-Palatinate. He noted a “great concern” among school principals in the country.
According to the survey, two thirds of the school principals surveyed would “probably not” or “definitely not” recommend the profession. “With almost 60 percent of our colleagues, school policy is given a grade of five or even six. That clearly shows the disappointment in the schools, ”said Oliver Pick, also deputy state chairman of the VBE. In order to improve the situation, the association calls, among other things, for more staff to support school principals.
