School materials offered by the town of Tarascon-sur-Ariège for children

The beginning of the school year is approaching, and like every year, a few days before this important meeting for children and their parents, Tarasconnais elected officials distribute “school items” to students in the elementary schools of the town, Tuesday 27 August, from 3. p.m. to 6:30 p.m., in the town council chamber (behind town hall).

This donation, completely free, comes at the right time, even more so this year with the inflation that is putting pressure on the budget of all families.

The list of provisions, distributed by teachers, promotes equity and equality within classes. All small Tarasconnais will be able to work with suitable equipment, without any difference between one and another. Here, in Tarascon-sur-Ariège, the principle of free education takes its full meaning.

In addition, in addition to this provision, the city has been implementing social prices for school meals for 3 years. This decision, supported by a grant from the state, allows almost 100% of children to have lunch in the school restaurant, with a meal price between €0 and €1.50 depending on the size of the family.

On Tuesdays, when school supplies are distributed, registrations for the school cafeteria will be taken. The only obligation is to provide a CAF or MSA certificate for your family allowance. The representatives present will be able to help you print them.

The guide back to school, a little important for parents, created by the city’s communication department, is distributed on the same day, and at the beginning of the school year for kindergartens and Banat, answering several questions with related to education.
