School map in Eure-et-Loir: 55 class closures and 15 openings for the start of the school year in September 2023

The ax fell this Thursday, February 9, 2023 at the end of the Departmental Council for National Education (CDEN): the school map for the start of the school year in September will include 55 class closures in Eure-et-Loir (19 in kindergarten and 36 in elementary) and 15 openings (12 in kindergarten and 3 in elementary).

School map: four class openings decided in Eure-et-Loir after the start of the school year [septembre 2022]

A decision taken in a school demographic context that has been declining for several years, as Evelyne Mège, Academic Director of the National Education Services, points out:

“We have lost 2,690 students since 2019, which represents around 100 classes. And at the start of the school year, we will have 487 fewer students compared to the previous year. We have tried to treat all schools fairly with instructions not to not have more than twenty-four students in the large section classes, CP and CE1.
